Over the last few months, life’s obligations have made training difficult. Work, family dinners, high school baseball games….. these things are extremely important to me. But they also mean that running may take a back seat at times. Now that this weekend has arrived, I’ve been a little nervous as I’m feeling far less fit than I’d like to be.
Furthermore, rain all day and a forecast low of 45° overnight, have me renting a room in Clare. This is only the second time I’ve been forced to make that decision.
Sometimes even I need a little reminder of the lessons these little adventures offer. Each one of us is on our own journey; others’ expectations of what it should look like are irrelevant. Set a goal, then go out and do it. It won’t be easy, but it’s not meant to be. And we grow in the process.
Besides, there’s only so many high school baseball games left, and I want to be at every one that I can.
