It’s easy to make choices when the outcome is known. Taking a risk on an unknown can be dangerous, but the rewards are often much greater.
It’s 40 miles from Rogers City to Cheboygan. In that entire stretch, there is but one place to get….. well, anything. A wonderful little Italian place called Rosa’s. But there’s a catch. They are only open a few days each week, and only for a five hour window.
Consequently, leaving Rogers City you have a choice to make. Do you carry enough supplies to cover the distance, knowing the extra weight will slow your pace considerably, or do you leave intentionally light. Take the gamble believing that if you work hard enough, you can make it to their door while the light is still on. Knowing all the while that failure will leave you exhausted and alone, still facing another 24 miles….. now without food.
Today we made a very bold choice, and I have to say, this lasagna is amazing.
