After a two hour nap I set out from Tawas late in the afternoon yesterday. I had big goals for where I wanted to be and when, but after 35 rainy miles earlier in the day, my progress was so much slower than I had hoped. It would turn out to be one of the toughest nights I’ve spent outside in quite some time.
After just over twenty more hours on my feet, the road had brought me here, to the Big Bear Lodge in Alpena, and to these two beautiful souls who have treated me like family since the first time I stayed here. There are so many other things I’d like to write about, but I’m simply too tired. Physically, mentally….. I’m exhausted. So for now I need to rest, because tomorrow will be here soon…..
