Sometimes my #StupidIdeas involve epic journeys across hundreds of miles and deep personal reflection. Sometimes it’s just running loops around the neighborhood with a few of my dumbest friends.
This is the Halloween 24 Hour #BlockParty 
The idea is a simple one. A loop around my neighborhood about 9/10ths of a mile long. 24 hours. Run as many laps as you can before the time expires. Simple enough, right?!?
By 6 hours in everyone was feeling good and going strong. Our amazing crew chief Heather even joined in on the running fun this time logging 3.1 miles and finishing the virtual Gourdy’s Pumpkin Run 5K!
With 12 hours down we were halfway done and everyone was racking up the mileage! Two runners were over 50 miles, a few more were closing in fast on that distance, and this kid….. had run 50K!! #ThatsMyBoy
In the end I came up just a little bit short of my mileage goal, but my goal of sharing another amazing adventure with great friends was accomplished many times over. I am so grateful to each of these runners for choosing to spend their weekend with us. Already looking forward to the next one!
